Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy returns to Netflix as they showcase Part 2 on September 15 this year!

The dark fantasy Bastard!! finally returns on Netflix for its second season! 

Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- anime first premiered on Netflix on June 30. Season 1 consists of 13 episodes that align with the available chapters of the manga at that time. Bastard!! was originally a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. It was first serialized in 1998 by Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump. Even though its publication has been subjected to several hiatus, Bastard!! has remained one of the best-selling manga series, with over 30 million copies in circulation. 

Bastard!! is based on the culture of heavy metal music and the world of Dungeons & Dragons, from which the name of the manga was derived from. The story started four centuries ago as the Earth suffered from a cataclysm caused by the demon Anthrasax but was defeated after. A group called Dark Rebel Army plans on resurrecting Anthrasax to rule the world. The only one who can stop this group is by resurrecting the ancient great wizard, Dark Scheider, with a virgin kiss. The story continues with the battle of Dark Schneider and Arches Nei, one of the leaders of the Dark Rebel Army, which focuses on the human belief system, morality, and religion. 

Recently, Netflix announced that the second season of Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- is scheduled for September 15 release. The producer behind the season 2 is Warner Bros. Japan, while the animation is headed by Liden Films. In the previous season, it is apparent that Liden Films has been acknowledging the manga sequence, which gained the favor of fans.
