Both the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros are coming off series wins after just playing a series against one another earlier in the week in Anaheim. Now, this series moves to Hoston after the Astros won that last series 2-1. Even though the Angels are not in playoff contention, Shohei Ohtani should again be heavily considered for MVP. He’s leading the Angels in batting average (.267), home runs (33) and runs batted in (86). That’s not to mention he has 11 wins and a 2.58 ERA as a starting pitcher. He’ll face a stiff test in the Astros this weekend.

Ohtani homered once again in the Angels’ last game against the Tigers. Mike Trout did as well, making that the eighth time these teammates have homered in the same game this season.
Unfortunately for the Angels, they still lost the game 5-4 to just miss the sweep. Tigers rookies Kerry Carpenter and Ryan Kreidler hit back-to-back homers in the ninth to give the Tigers the lead.
The Astros are coming off a 5-4 extra-innings win against the Texas Rangers to secure the series victory. The Astros were trailing 3-0 at one point. Jose Altuve scored on a wild pitch in the 10th inning to give the Astros a walk-off win. Now, they will start Lance McCullers Jr. for this one who is 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA.
The Angels will start Michael Lorenzen to begin the series. The righty is 6-6 with a 4.94 ERA.
