Georgetown (5-15) has lost a record 29 consecutive Big East games but on Tuesday night at Capital One Arena, the Hoyas might have a shot at ending the misery. DePaul (9-11) comes to the nation’s capital with a 3-6 record in conference play and is just 2-6 on the road this season. The Hoyas are 0-9 in the Big East and just 4-7 at home. Primo Spears leads the Georgetown attack at 16.6 points and 5.5 assists per game. With Brandon Murray and Jay Heath sidelined by injury, it falls to Qudus Wahab (10.0 points and 7.3 rebounds a game) to provide offense. For the Blue Demons, Umoja Gibson averages 15.4 points and 5.1 assists and Javan Johnson scores 15.3 points a game. Eral Penn is their top rebounder at 7.4 per game.

On Saturday, Spears scored a career-high 37 points and added 11 assists but the Hoya defense was shredded by conference-leading Xavier in a 95-82 loss at Cincinnati. Akok Akok added 14 points, 10 rebounds a three blocks, but the Musketeers shot 54.0% overall and 8-of-14 from deep in the win.
Also on Saturday, DePaul lost at Providence 75-64. Gibson finished with 16 points and five assists and Da’Sean Nelson scored 13 points off the bench.
While Georgetown leads the all-time series with DePaul 33-14, the Blue Demons have won the last three meetings, including an 83-76 victory in Chicago on Dec. 29. Gibson scored 31 points with five assists and Johnson added 21 points for DePaul, while Murray had 29 points for the Hoyas and Wahab went for 13 points and 16 boards.
