Meanwhile, the Brewers are currently chasing a Wild Card spot, and are two-and-a-half games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the third and final spot in the National League. They’re also three back of the San Diego Padres for the second spot.

The Mets grabbed the series opener on Monday with a 7-2 win. Five of the Mets’ 10 hits went for extra bases, including a triple from shortstop Francisco Lindor that was part of a 2-for-5 performance. 

Left fielder Christian Yelich put together a strong performance for the Brewers in that one. He went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
