The problem for the Toronto Raptors so far this season is that they’ve had a hard time winning on the road with just a 2-5 record away from home so far. The Indiana Pacers are playing well in this home stand so far winning two of their last three games. They barely lost to Denver in their last game as the Nuggets held on to win 122-119. With a win tonight, the Pacers would get back to the .500 mark. The Pacers played a great game against Denver despite the loss. They kept reigning MVP Nikola Jokic in foul trouble much of the night limiting his effectiveness. The Pacers held an 18-point lead and looked like they had the game in the bag.

Jokic came back in the fourth though and showed why he is such a powerful force, scoring 24 points even though he was benched for nearly an entire quarter. Bennedict Mathurin played a great game scoring 30 for the Pacers. The club had a chance to force overtime and forget the blown lead but Myles Turner missed a three at the buzzer.

Indiana will try to forget the tough loss prepping for Toronto who is coming off a 132-113 loss to Oklahoma City in its last game. The Thunder snapped a four-game losing streak as the Raptors’ road struggles continue. They allowed Toronto native Eugene Omoruyi to score a career-high 22 points to help lead OKC to victory. Clamping down on defense will be the main priority for Toronto to improve its road record.
