How to Watch Sparks at Liberty: Live Stream WNBA, TV Channel, Start Time

The trend of no team really wanting to secure the final three playoff seeds in WNBA continues as the Sparks (12-17) have lost three in a row and while the Liberty (11-18) come in off a huge win, but have lost seven of their last 10 games too. All of the teams seeded between sixth and 11th in the standings are separated by only two games with New York having the most work to do.

New York is coming off a massive win against a fellow playoff contender in the Mercury (89-69) as they try to inch up the standings:

In their win over Phoenix, New York was able to lock them down to just 69 points and held the duo of Diana Taurasi (12 points) and Skylar Diggins-Smith (13 points) to just 25 total points on 8-30 shooting (3-12 from three).

That has been the key to their season, their defense. When it is on, they are a genuine playoff team, but when it is off they rack up loss after loss.

Also in that game, New York got a great performance from Natasha Howard with 23 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, all of which were season highs or close for the veteran.

Sabrina Ionescu showed her playmaking chops with 16 assists along with 10 points and eight rebounds to tie the WNBA regular season record for assists in a game. The overall record is 18, set by Courtney Vandersloot back in the 2020 playoffs.

This is the formula for New York to bounce back and make the playoffs this season. Strong defense, veteran scoring and Ionescu filling up the stat sheet, making plays for her team.
