The women’s college volleyball season is coming to an end and on Wednesday, Tennessee and Alabama will square off in one of the final two matches ahead of the conference tournament. The Volunteers are currently 16-12 overall with a conference record of 10-6, putting them in fifth place in the SEC. Tennessee is coming off of a sweep of Mississippi State over the weekend with the first resulting in a straight-set win and the second resulting in a five-set victory. The second game celebrated the Tennessee seniors and Natalie Hayward pulled off her first-ever triple-double with 10 kills, a career-best 61 assists and 14 digs.

The Crimson Tide have struggled this season, posting an overall record of 9-19 and a conference record of 3-13 to put them in 12th place in the conference. The team’s most recent match resulted in a defeat to Arkansas in straight sets. Abby Marjama led Alabama offensively with seven kills while Sydney Gholson led the team defensively scooping up 13 digs.
Tennessee has won the last three matches against Alabama.
