After a tough run to start the month, the Minnesota Timberwolves are back in business. They lost six of seven before this most recent run of a five-game winning streak. They have a good chance of extending that streak when they travel to take on the 5-14 Charlotte Hornets. The Timberwolves can’t take the Hornets for granted, though, especially on the road. Charlotte just broke up a three-game losing streak by beating the heavily favored Philadelphia 76ers at home in its last game. Charlotte won for just the second time in 13 games on Wednesday beating Philly. The Hornets have struggled without LaMelo Ball but they got a strong effort from Terry Rozier.

The Hornets were down 13 at one point even though Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey were out for the Sixers. Rozier helped mount a comeback by scoring nine in the last five minutes, totaling 22 on the night. If they can show this kind of resolve against Philadelphia, they’ll have a shot tonight against Minnesota even without Ball.
The Timberwolves extended their win streak with a big 115-101 road win against the Indiana Pacers. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 23 to lead the way for Minnesota. The win ended a five-game winning streak for Indiana. In those five straight wins, Minnesota has won four of them on the road. Thus, Minnesota should be favored again tonight away from home.
