Early on in the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, there are only three undefeated teams. After today there will only be one as the United States (2-0) takes on China (2-0) as the two undefeated teams in Group A step up to see who will take control of the group. This year’s United States team is built around former MVP and two-time champion Breanna Stewart, along with Kahleah Copper, Sabrina Ionescu, Jewell Loyd, Alyssa Thomas, Ariel Atkins, Brionna Jones, Betnijah Laney and Shakira Austin. This will also be the first game for Kelsey Plum, Chelsea Gray and 2022 WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, who are arriving late after their Aces team won the MVP championship. The team is stacked and built to cruise through this year’s championship if they can sustain their current momentum.
