West Ham have made Aguerd their first summer signing in a deal Moyes expects to kick-start a summer recruitment drive.

Saha: Man United must not panic

Louis Saha has warned Manchester United not to be dragged into signing the wrong type of players this summer.

It looks set to be a big window for Erik ten Hag as he looks to turn the club’s fortunes around, but Saha has urged his former side not to rush into big-money moves.

“Man United have to make the right choices and sign the right players for the club,” Saha told BoyleSports.

“It’s very important not to panic buy, those in charge of signings need to make sure the philosophies at the club are right.

“It doesn’t matter how much you’re spending, it’s about quality. You don’t need to spend £100million on a player who is going to disrupt your club.”

Raphinha wants regular starts ahead of World Cup

Leeds star Raphinha says playing time will be key in deciding his next club, amid links with Arsenal.

Barcelona have most regularly been credited with interest but now the Gunners are reportedly in pole position for the Brazilian’s signature.

Raphinha addressed his future last month, telling reporters: “I have a contract with Leeds until 2024, my future is in the hands of [agent] Deco and Leeds.

“Knowing that there are less than six months left for the World Cup, you have to be active in the clubs.”

New club, new number

Antonio Rudiger will wear the number 22 shirt at Real Madrid.

The defender has been officially presented at his new club today, revealing that he turned down rivals Barcelona.

“The first time I got in contact, not really me, my agent, was early September,” Rudiger said.

“The second time, I spoke with Mr Ancelotti, was in April. That was the most important moment. That was when I made my choice. I wanted to play for this club under him.

“There was interest from Barcelona but I told my brother, it’s Real or nothing.”

Arteta plots big summer spend

Arsenal are targeting a move for highly-rated Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez as they look to continue their summer spending after agreeing a £34million deal to sign Fabio Vieira.

But the Gunners could face competition for Martinez from Manchester United, who are ready to move for the Argentina international after failing to land his Ajax team-mate Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal have identified Martinez as one of their top transfer targets as Mikel Arteta plots a summer recruitment drive at Emirates Stadium.

The 24-year-old, who is valued at around £30million, would provide competition for centre-back pair Ben White and Gabriel.

Arsenal close to Raphinha deal

Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Leeds winger Raphinha.

Goal Espana claim that the Gunners are very close to completing a deal, with Raphinha not willing to wait for Barcelona any longer. The La Liga side have fallen away as an option due to their inability to match Leeds’ valuation.

That has left Arsenal as the most likely option and it’s reported that Raphinha wants the deal completed this week.

Gunners fans will be hoping this is not just a ploy to get Barcelona to up their offer.

Takumi Minamino has revealed his frustration over the lack of first-team opportunities he has been given at Liverpool.

While Liverpool have been faced with a hectic season, playing every possible match as they reached the final of all three knockout competitions, Minamino made just nine starts across all competitions. One of those came in the Premier League, a competition in which he played 179 minutes.

Reports suggest Minamino’s time at Anfield could be coming to an end, with Monaco a potential destination.

“Many of the games I played weren’t of interest to anyone,” Minamino told Sanspo.

“I felt motivated by regret and anger every day.”
