What I know and what I hear as big recruiting week starts up

Good afternoon Bucknuts subscribers! There is plenty going on with Ohio State football recruiting so let’s get started! I will of course have plenty more throughout the afternoon, night and tomorrow.

1) The Ohio State staff welcomed in five recruits on official visits this past weekend. And just as those five left campus, right behind them are two more of the country’s top prospects in for official visits. As reported here on Bucknuts this morning, Plano (Texas) John Paul II cornerback Terrance Brooks began an official visit to Ohio State today. Brooks has made official visits to Oregon, Florida and Texas so far. He also has a trip set to Alabama June 25-27 and going into today I am told Alabama is the school to beat for Brooks. Brooks is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 58 overall prospect, the No. 8 cornerback and the No. 13 prospect in Texas.

Also starting an official visit to Ohio State today is one of the country’s top offensive linemen Tyler Booker from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG. There is plenty of high level competition for Booker. He has made official visits to Florida, Oregon and Georgia and after Ohio State has Alabama June 25-27. Booker is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 42 overall prospect, the No. 5 offensive tackle and the No. 8 prospect in Florida.

And then on Tuesday morning a talent packed Ohio State camp starts with some great 2022, 2023 and 2024 recruits set to be at the Woody Hayes Facility. Bucknuts will of course have wall-to-wall coverage of the camp.

The Ohio State staff is doing what they do – being all over recruiting!
